My sister and I were born and raised in Smithers, BC, and have always loved the beauty, adventure, and lifestyle that our little mountain town has to offer.
Growing up, we travelled, explored, and dreamed about one day opening a clothing store of our own. We always loved fashion, connecting with people, and creating a place where women could come to feel confident and inspired. That dream eventually became Mainerz Boutique.
Our journey has been filled with incredible highs and some very challenging lows. Over the years, we have experienced a major flood in our building and then, in 2015, a devastating fire that forced us to rebuild the entire building. We moved into a temporary location and it took almost two years before we were able to return to our home at Mainerz.
Then came COVID, bringing a whole new set of challenges for small businesses everywhere. Through every obstacle, we continued to adapt, rebuild, and believe in what we were creating.
Today, we are so proud of what Mainerz has become.
Our building is now home to 8 amazing women-run businesses on the main floor, along with 4 modern two-bedroom Airbnb suites upstairs that keep us busy every day. It has become a place filled with incredible women, entrepreneurs, customers, and community.
While my sister Jess has stepped back from the daily operations of Mainerz to continue growing her own business, she will always be a huge part of our story and the foundation of what we built together.
Over the past year, four incredible moms, friends, and Mainerz team members have taken on an exciting new challenge — building our website completely ourselves. With no outside help, we learned, created, and grew together. It has been an amazing adventure, and we have loved seeing our online community grow as we ship Mainerz across Canada.
Now, we are excited to take the next step and share Mainerz with customers in the USA as well.
Every day is an adventure, and we are incredibly proud of our little mountain town, our community, our team, and every customer who continues to support us. Your support allows us to keep growing, dreaming, and sharing Mainerz Boutique with more people.
